How To Make A Blast Furnace In Minecraft

Overview

Looking to make a Blast Furnace in Minecraft? Then you're in the right place.

In this guide, we’ll show you all the ingredients you need and the correct order you need to put them in to craft a Blast Furnace. Enjoy!

What is a Blast Furnace in Minecraft?

Before we jump right in, let’s briefly explain what a Blast Furnace is and why it’s better than a normal Furnace

A Blast Furnace is a furnace that will smelt any metal-related items in the game. It’s used to smelt ores, raw metals and even tools and armor.

But why use a Blast Furnace instead of a normal Furnace? Well, Blast Furnace will smelt the metal-related items at twice the speed of a normal Furnace.

Awesome. So without further ado, let's build one!

Blast Furnace: Ingredients

To kick off, here are the items you’ll need to craft a Blast Furnace:

  • 5x Iron Ingots
  • 1x Furnace
  • 3x Smooth Stone
  • And of a course, a Crafting Table

Crafting Furnace

Let’s start with crafting our Furnace. For this, we just have to place Cobblestones in an O shape on the Crafting Table.

Finding Cobblestones is easy; just mine some stones, and you'll get Cobblestones.

Crafting Iron Ingots

Okay, now let's make those Iron Ingots.

We throw some Wooden Fuel into the bottom of the Furnace to get some heat, and we put Iron ore in the top – then hey presto, we’ve made Iron Ingots.

If you’re looking for Iron Ore, it's found in underground caverns and caves of the over world, and don’t worry, it's incredibly common so don’t worry you won’t need to go looking for long.

Crafting Smooth Stone

Okay, so we got a Furnace and even some Iron Ingots, now all we need is the Smooth Stone

We can either chuck normal Stone Blocks into the Furnace to smelt, or we can . Super simple.

Once all the necessary items have been gathered, simply toss them onto the Crafting Table in the order shown here, and you’ve made yourself a Blast Furnace:
